Spencer is the Republican nominee for State Senate District 23 which has been filled by retiring Sen. Phil Boots but also includes a large are that has been represented by Sen. Ron Alting. The district was redesigned this year to include parts of Tippecanoe and Montgomery counties and all of Warren, Fountain, Parke and Vermillion County as shown in yellow in the map.
